MY STORY
(previous page)
Part 5: "On a mission" God gives us talents and gifts and a calling to be used in his service and for his glory. But it takes attentive hearts and minds on our part to be ready to participate when He calls us to action. I can think of no greater endeavor than to share the life saving, life changing gospel with others. Christians who have devoted themselves to spreading God’s love, need our encouragement and support. In helping equip them in areas that they feel inadequate or have little knowledge we can equip them and free them for the work God has called them to do.
Communication through the written and printed word is but one form of sharing the gospel with the lost and of sharing our burdens with those who are praying for us. As a graphic designer of literature, It is no surprise that designing gospel tracts would be close to my heart. This may be the only access or first introduction that others may have to God’s truth that they may not have any other way.
Those that we redesigned for Open Door Ministries in Florida are geared towards reaching minorities. These continue to impact many lives, especially those behind prison walls. Missionaries in distant places and the organizations they minister through, want to show, as well as, tell their story to those back home. This can take the form of photo/prayer cards, brochures, newsletters, or larger publications.
One such organization is Kids Alive International based in Indiana and their commitment to care for children’s physical and spiritual needs. Missionary TECH Team has been involved in helping them in many ways. Facilities and construction supervision; web site design and maintenance; redesigning their literature. No one except Jesus Christ deserves the glory for what is being accomplished. How he directs the body of believers is awesome. What is important is that they support each other in prayer.
Our work without the prayers of God's people would be like a pen without ink, yet together in the hand of God, we become the instruments of His good pleasure.
As missionary, Jim Elliot once said, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.”
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith." (Galatians 6:10)
